Untold Horizon Voyage Planning
No matter if you are seeking one-off advice or a yearly subscription, we have a package that will help you to have the ultimate sailing experience.
The Voyage Planning process
When our team of mariners work on your voyage, it is prepared as if they are on the boat with you. Prior to planning, you will be asked to provide details about your boat and your experience. Once this information is obtained we can provide you with the safest, and most appropriate voyage plan.
Naturally, a voyage plan has a beginning and an end. In your plan we will cover both of these in great detail. We will include information like, what areas of water to avoid, recommendations on what weather parameters are appropriate, how to operate safely around commercial traffic, local marinas and what services they provide and more!
Knowing everything there is to know about your departing and arrival ports is a very good step. We take preparation even further, by providing a recommended route, as well as details on multiple ports along the way, in case trouble were to arise. The details for ports of refuge will include: safely navigating the area, contact information for local authorities, and local marinas in the event you need water, fuel, or just a place to tie up.
You might be thinking "I don't need a voyage plan, I won’t be making trips in the open ocean." In fact, voyage plans are actually more valuable for inshore and near coastal voyages. It is all too easy to become complacent and underestimate waters near shore. Allow our professional mariners to work with you and advise you on how to operate your boat safely, so you can enjoy the trips that you had dreamed of when you first purchased your boat; no matter the distance.
Due to the level of detail and customization of our products, we will need a minimum notice of 10 business days.
